Bio

Natalie has been a student of yoga for over 20 years. She is a graduate of the Yoga Therapy Program at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists. Natalie is a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher, a Registered Children's Yoga Teacher, and a continuing education provider through Yoga Alliance. Natalie serves as the Movement Therapist for the Oregon Pain Resiliency Program and Pain Advisors, where she works with individuals with chronic pain to increase their quality of life and decrease their opiate use.

Natalie is the director of Ashland Yoga Center and holds international retreats as well as teacher trainings.  She has released 5 DVD videos: Yoga for Beginners (in Spanish), Pre and Postnatal Yoga (in both English and Spanish), Yoga for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Restorative Yoga for Chronic Pain. Her comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and the biomechanics of movement inform how she approaches the application of asanas for mind-body wellness.

Natalie was an established radio personality and producer in the Spanish media when she found herself suffering from chronic lower back pain. In searching for relief, she developed a dedicated yoga practice which helped to deeply heal her body. Her personal restoration was life-changing, and inspired her devotion to teaching yoga. It is paramount to Natalie to make yoga accessible to all, and to this end she has brought yoga to various underserved populations. For over 2 decades she has taught in various settings, from private and studio classes to shelters, schools, rehabilitation centers, hospitals and churches. Her specialties include pre and post-natal yoga, children’s yoga, pelvic floor work, and posture and gait alignment. She also focuses on helping individuals living with autoimmune diseases, chronic pain, scoliosis and PTSD. Her approach to teaching stems from consideration of the unique needs of each individual.

Natalie aims to empower her students to actively participate in their own regeneration, and to this end she provides a positive environment that is self-paced and inclusive. Her ability to put people at ease makes her classes at once fun and transformative. Natalie is utterly uplifting, unpretentious and in possession of a contagious enthusiasm and humor. Natalie’s wealth of experience informs her commitment to help others create deep ease through restoring their intrinsic harmony.
